Really Mild Lift

I've had my eyes on the ome lift forever now, but $700 is too much for me.

I'd like to get a 1" lift for my '97 4runner.


What should I go with and what are the prices? I won't be doing any offroading.

Also, I plan on getting some new tires (255/85/16), which brand would you recommend?

99 "tall" springs would do just that for you. Otherwise some 1" spacers could work.

I also think you should look into the body lift route. If you aren't going to be doing any offroading and just want to fit larger tires, a small body lift is a very inexpensive way to do this. One thing though is I'm not sure I have seen anyone run that size tire with only 1" of lift. That tire is a slightly over 33" tall and I'm pretty sure you are going to have some pretty severe rubbing. You may have looked into it and think you will be ok, I just haven't seen it done so I'm throwing that out.

I agree with trd_4runnin, I think you'll have a lot of rubbing with only a 1" lift. You could definetly go the body lift route. It's $200, but that spacer lift from toytec that I posted above is only $300 so I think you should look into that, and you could run that tire size for sure with that spacer lift. Just a thought :biggrin2:

How long does the installation take?

By the way, which brand tires would you recommend?

Very nice! With two people installation should take about 4 hours. Just make sure you read over the directions really well. As for the tires, from your picture in your sig it looks like it snows where you live, so I'd go with a mud terrain or all terrain. If your not planning on off roading much, the all terrains are probly a good bet. I'd recommend BFG's but thats the only tire I've ever run. Maybe someone else can give you a bettter reccomendation for tires. Cant wait to see the lift on there though. Post some pics when its done!
