Rear 12V outlet vs cigarette lighter

Is there any difference in the power output of the rear 12V outlet vs the front "cigarette lighter" outlet on the center console? I ask because I've used a 12V air compressor many times while plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet, but last night I plugged it into the rear 12V outlet and the fuse on the compressor blew. Is this just a coincidence, or is there a difference between these outlets? Thanks...

The compressor blew the fuse because it drew to many amps., there should be no difference between the front and rears 12v sources.

Do the fuse on the compressor blew or the fuse on your 4runner blew?

The fuse in the compressor blew. It's a 15A fuse in the plug. I don't see why the compressor would suddenly decide to draw more than 15 amps, unless there's a fault someplace in the compressor itself. Also, I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but the engine wasn't running when I plugged the compressor in to the rear outlet and turned it on. Every other time I used this thing, the engine was running.

Replace the fuse, start the engine, plug it back in and start the compressor and see what happens. The engine running should not matter, other then draining the battery.
