Rear and Front Defogger/Defroster

I have noticed my read and front defogger are not as efficient and have spotty performance. I am a very patient person but a 2017 car taking 15 min or more or never just to get rid of simple fogged up windows is not acceptable. My 2008 Sienna does it almost immediately. I was wondering if other owners experienced a similar issue and if so should I take this to the dealer as the vehicle is under 20K still. Is this normal for does something need to be fixed?

what are your hvac settings when you are using them? to defog front the airflow mode selector should on the windshield, outside air mode (should do that automatically), increase temp, increase fan speed, make sure A/C is on

the rear is just heating elements, i've never noticed it operating any faster or slower than any other vehicle

I have found that some adjustment to the temperature setting is required to get quick results.
There are days however when the are just right that it takes longer than usual but this is not very common.

I will check and report back. I just feel the rear one is weak and could be stronger. I want to get this solved before the snow/ice start in a couple of months. Thanks.

I got better results today on the front windshield. But I did notice significant condensation and was wondering if this is normal. The rear defogger works: starts from the top center and the spreads downward but the left and right middle to bottom part of the rear window are weak and do not clear completely. I do have an aftermarket tint and wondering if that could be an issue. The picture is of the condensation on the front windshield which is on the inside.

if you have that much moisture on the inside of your window it probably means you have a leak somewhere. check all the carpets and see if any are wet, you've probably got water inside the vehicle somewhere

When you have the defrost on is your AC light illuminated and recirculate off? I am talking about the HVAC controls to be clear. Not the heated windshield deicer settings. The warm dry air (reason for AC automatically turning on) from the vent evaporates the moisture and then gets blown out of the 4Runner.

I kinda have the same issue, it does work just doesn’t seem that fast but it is the exact same speed as the 2017 sr5 I had so, I assume it’s normal (now have a 2018 off road) I also have not noticed the rear side windows de icing despite having what looks like defrost lines in them. Maybe I am missing something? Not really a issue more of a observation. I am talking about defrost on the rear and side. No issue with defogger on the front glass.

I believe those lines are AM/FM antennas, not defroster lines.
