Rear Anti - lock brake light

I have a 1990 4 runner and the rear anti brake light is on. When I push down the brake it goes down to the floor then bounces bake hard. I feels like only the front brakes are working. checked the master cylinder and it checked out fine and had plenty of fluid. What else can I check?

All the parts in your drum brakes. Wheel cylinders and all the springs in there are suspect. If that light is on, either something is wrong with your rear brakes or that sensor has rusted off the rear diff (that does happen).

Pull the rear wheels one at a time and watch while someone press the pedal.
Note: wrap a strap around the shoes to limit shoe travel should they work.
Make sure both shoes move. Check for leaks, etc.
