Just changed out rear axle and transfer case oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic 75W90 at 14k miles on my 4runner.
Transfer case oil was like brand new.
Rear axle oil was light brown with a very little of metal sheen in the oil. The magnet had very little metal paste on it and no metal shaving was found in the oil at all.
When I do the first oil change I will also change out the front axle oil with both Mobil 1.
I purchased my 4runner with 11k miles on it so the engine oil was changed prior to picking it up.
