Rear Axle Toe In

I've had the ToyTec Panhard and Rear Lower Links installed since I got rear ended a few weeks ago. The truck is up and running again but it seems that the passenger side rear tire has a little toe-in. I'm not sure how that can be possible but it is. The panhard and lower links are all adjustable. Anyone on here have experience adjusting these?

Sounds like a bent axle?

do you have pictures? its possible that your axle is bent, its also possible that you may be using the wrong term.

Adjustable panhard bar and lower links only recenter and correct pinion angle for the axle. They don't play a role in toe or camber. Plus, the rear axle you can't set toe or camber. Like D-Farms said, you may be using the wrong term.

Would either one of these describe what's happening (excluding caster)? If so, it's possible you have a bent rear axle or a slight bend in the axle shaft. If the axle shaft is bent you will notice a wobble at low speeds. It might not be enough to tell while driving (depending on the amount of bend) but it would be enough to notice if you have someone look out the window at whichever rear tire it is at about 20mph-ish

Did you get an alignment? If so, what's your thrust angle? If not, getting one after an accident is still a good idea.

Some Pics

Just took these.

More

Took one last night and one this morning. This morning I backed it up in a parking lot and the tire was kicked out. Yeah, I'd say axle is bent. I guess I just need to get a new axle housing. Best place to get one? There is a 99 at Pick N Pull in town I'm gonna go check out today. I guess it really doesn't matter if I find an axle with the E-Locker or not. Mine has the rear diff lock but I reckon either housing will work.

Sorry, either housing will not work. You need an elocker housing to go with your elocker third. If you want to use a non-elocker housing, you'll need to get an open third to match it.

+1 I was just going to ask the same. It could just be a matter of adjusting one, two or all 3 of your adjustable bars. Take some measurements from center to center on the bolts for both rear links, and from your frame to the tires (or hub if you can) on both sides

This is only the case if youre not up for a little modification. There are lots of threads on how to modify a non elocker housing to accept a locked third.

Yeah, my old UCAs and links are at the shop who put em on. I'll go by this morning and get the straight one and measure center to center of bolt holes for OEM length, then adjust the lower links to those measurements. I know the panhard needs to be longer than factory due to 3" coil lift in rear. I really appreciate ya'lls help and input.

Honestly you could even just measure the ones you currently have in, obviously if they are uneven, you need to adjust one or both. since you are still running factory upper links, then the further out you adjust the lowers the worse your pinion angle will be. I run mine 1 full turn in (shorter) from where the factory ones were. But I also have the uppers and have them turned out (longer than factory).

Mainly, it looks like your panhard needs to be extended or dropped.

i mistakenly bought a bent axle housing once. (an expensive lesson)

Get something long and straight to use as a reference then crawl under the housing to take a look against it. The bent may be noticeable. You can also spot stress marks.

The alignment computer should may also give you a clue. After a lift, only the thurst angle was changed (since I didn't have an adjustable pan bar), but toe and camber was fine.

anyways good luck.

Bent and Replaced

Well, the axle was bent. The last 8 inches or so before the hub was the bend. SOOOooooo...I replaced the axle. Went to salvage yard, found an axle that matched mine, dropped it, dropped mine and installed the new one. We're good to go now. Best part? I paid $110 for the complete axle minus elocker motor. Thanks for your help folks!!
