rear axle

ok, i had everything fixed on my runner before i sold it, and i talked to the mechanic about the rear end, because my revos had worn really bad on the inside on the rear end and ruigned them. so he put it up on an alignment rack , and said that the rear end was perfectly fine, and that i was ok to put new tires on, so i went and put new tires on, about 2 weeks later i sold it for $6,700. I saw it yesterday, and the tires are doing the exact same thing, i talked to the guy, he said he has had the tires rotated and everything, and they are still doing this. Does anyone know what the problem could be????

I'd have the alignment checked elsewhere. Something's obviously wrong.

now, when i bought the 4 runner the right rear axle shaft broke, it was replaced, and then put on the alignment rack to make sure nothing was wrong, and i was told that the rear axle was completely fine. Now does anyone think that if both axle shafts were pulled out then put back in that it would make any difference? I guess that it is always worth a try.

Pulling/re-installing an axle shaft is no big deal.

The big deal is what broke the shaft to begin with ?

If something was able to break the shaft, there's a good chance the housing was bent too. And that would explain the tire wear.

The axle shaft broke while my brother was driving it, so i dont really know the truth necessarily behind how it broke, he said that all he did was turn the corner, and heard a loud pop, and then the car wouldnt go anywhere. So i dont know exactly what the problem was.
I told the guy last night to go and take it to a shop and put back up on an alignment rack, so we will see what happens at that point.
