Rear Bumper Body Alignment Issues

Looking at your 2 pics, can't quite make out the bent pieces, which way do we need to bend them to be more align-able and does it seem fragile, like easy to break off? I'm hoping it will be obvious once i pull it again.

Excuse the poor iphone markup.. That tab is right where it meets the rear quarter panel shown in the above pic where it doesn't align. In the red circle, it is bent inward. In the second pic, it's straightened out as much as I needed it to in order to pop it into the clip. It's a soft(er) plastic.

Thought I need only to adjust oneside I took out all of the screws. I did snap one screw on the undercarriage. One of 15 aint bad lol.

Glad it worked out! I snapped the head off of the exact same bolt by over-tightening. it is currently superglued on...

Bump! Tagged for interest.

I just got home from work today, and saw some fresh scuffs on my drivers rear “corner” of the bumper.

(I have a company work truck that I drive during the week)

At first I noticed the paint scuff marks, I tried to wipe the scuffs at first with a used Covid mask.
But now I see the bumper has about 1/4” gap on the drivers side from the body.

I’m hoping that I *may* get some footage of the hit-n-run A**hole from local sec cams, but it’s doubtful.

Regardless of weather the prick is ever caught, I need to do something to fix the gap.
The small scuffs I can live with…
It is a 4Runner, and it has and does go off-road.

Unfortunately it’s dark outside right now, and I’ll won’t have time until the weekend to fix it.

What do you guys think?

I’m tempted to just “palm it” or maybe use a rubber mallet covered in painters tape? Hope it will bang back in? I’m kinda nervous I could break the clips or whatever , as I don’t know what I’m doing.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The pics look 10x10 pixels and impossible to really see.

I wouldn’t use a mallet. You probably have some busted clips and need a body shop to pull it off, fix the clips, then pop it back on.

I’m not a body guy, but can tell you worst case is the body shop pops it off and can do very minor work and pop it back on. I’d have a reputable shop look at it. Maybe they can even “hammer it back on”. If you don’t know what you’re doing, you can definitely make it worse. Looks as minor as possible to me though.

Hit the scuffs with some Meguires polish and if it clean up it can most like be buffed out, again by a reputable shop.
