I guess I am not 100% sure what you are asking. But members have plasti dipped and vynal wrapped to change the color. My bumper is actually off at the moment waiting for the plastidip to dry but I may have to redo it as the cold weather didn't seem to sit well with the dip ( slightly chunky)

How do I avoid scratches and scuffs like this on my bumper? Do I apply 3m clear shield or is there a long oem rubber piece that I can add?
 
no OEM rubber piece, you could do a clear 3m application or just not set stuff that will scrape the bumper on it :) (being sarcastic here but I don't see how else that came to be)

I know I know...I set myself up for that one. But I normally don't set stuff down on the bumper. Its just that when I slide out heavier stuff it might hit the bumper once in a while ....not purposely.
