Rear bumper help.

So I purchased a baja rack ladder and a roof rack. I’ve been in the market for a rear bumper way down the line. I’ve done a few hours of research, but I really can’t find any info on rear bumpers that might work with the ladder. I’m either looking for a full swingout or a dual swingout. The only one That might look promising is the C4 Fab rear bumper...at 3 grand. Anyone have any info?

You know I thought about EXP-One. I have their sliders and I love them. I love what they did with the rear bumper but I don’t like the camera relocation kit, and priced out the way I want it’s 3k as well.... so no dice. Thanks for the input though.

so don't use their steel dong camera kit. I'd go with another style as well, if the "dong" couldn't be folded down. I have enough problems with my tailgate hitting my garage door and branches as it is.

If you're looking at a rear bumper with swing outs I don't think any of them will work with a tailgate-mounted ladder (Gobi style ladder). Bumper makers can integrate a ladder into the swing out though.

The C4 bumper does say that it does work with gobi ladder, but I’ll have the Baja Rack one. Wondering if it will work as well.

If you're looking at a rear bumper with swing outs I don't think any of them will work with a tailgate-mounted ladder (Gobi style ladder). Bumper makers can integrate a ladder into the swing out though.

Thanks for the info, i probably should have thought out fully my rear before I pulled the trigger on my Baja Rack ladder... I still have a while before I can really drop the money for the bumper.

The shrockworks bumper works with the baja/gobi ladders.

Please explain. I figure I’m relatively short and I don’t want to climb all over my tire, which is a hazard of its own. I would think a dedicated ladder with 3 points of contact would be much safer then a tire.

I would agree with Jeremy556

You can climb on the bumper, then the swing out and then step onto the wheel and avoid the extra weight. For me I rarely need to be on my roof rack, rather able to reach it to tie things down or move cargo boxes up and down. I stand on my tires or since I am awaiting my rear bumper my hitch D ring. Well, I have had my roof rack for about 4-5 years now and have climbed on to it exactly once. Standing on the tires mounted to the axles or sliders is how I access it normally.

The one time I did climb on the roof: the top of the spare is a good hand hold, step on the bumper, next step on the bottom edge of the spare rim, change hand hold to the roof rack, step on top of the spare, then on to roof rack.
