Rear bumper protection

So here I am in San Diego where many people drive like rabbits without concern about the "other guy". I have a bull bar on my front but would like suggestions about the rear bumper protection. Ease of install, strength and impact distribution. Just in case.....

Thanks!

Trailer hitch ball. I leave mine in all the time.

the bull bar will probably do more harm than good.

I had one on and I read alot of people here describe them as "damage enhancers" rather than 'damage preventers"

never really understood or believed it. then i bottomed out my car a couple times off roading and they did enhance damage onto my stock bumper. had i not had it on, i probably wouldve kept driving without a single scratch, now there are some huge scratches/dents from where the bull bar pushed back into my bumper

I leave my towing ball on all the time too but the second time I got hit the girl had a lift and didnt even hit the bumper :frusty: Im in the process of trying to figure out how to wire a back up camera to record on a loop. I already had a dash cam in the front now I need one in the back. A little paranoid "yes" but they say the third times a charm and I dont want to have to try and remember plate number or what the person looked like.
You could get a shockworks bumper for the back, dont think it would hurt your runner but would crunch their car

May I suggest:

you can get a cheap dash cam to put in the cargo area facing the rear. a dash cam will record over the oldest file when the memory card is full. the cargo area even has an outlet to plug into.
