I know they look awesome and are a great price, but how is their quality? I have heard a couple people on-line complain about them. But I don't know if they're just complaining just for the sake of it.

I don't know a whole lot about these bumpers, but they should be able hold up no problem, unless you decide to decide to drive off a cliff and land on a boulder of course :lol:
Edit : Trail gear for the most part makes pretty solid products, so I don't see why their bumpers would be poor in quality, and their prices are pretty nice

personally i have had pretty good luck with trail-gear stuff. There are trail gear bashers all over the interweb. For everyone that hates T-G you will find guys that love them.
Trail-gear says their steel is DOM, now as to the quality of the material, dunno.
here is an old thread from Marlin's forum where they tested a competitor's material (probably trail-gear)

My 81's rear Marlin bumper has been beat on hard.
BUT Marlin doesn't make bumpers anymore.
The Trail-Gear bumper isn't tow rated. Not that these old trucks can tow a whole lot but if you want a tow rate bumper I believe 4xinnovations makes one but is only rated to a class 2
1984 - 1989 Toyota 4Runner Off Road Rear Bumper with Class 2 Hitch
I would love to get the 4xinnovations bumper for my 94 (I am recycling my 4xinnovation's sliders from my 81 to my 94) but will end up going with the T-G since I am going to have to cut down one side for my rear tire swing out.
