rear bumper upper plate?????????

Does anyone know how to remove the upper plate of the rear bumper on a 2001. I want to take mine off and paint it.

Look underneath and you will see the plastic clips holding it in place. Squeeze them to pop them out, then just pull the plate off....easy.

paint it?

i think if you paint it, it would chip when you step on it or hit it. then you would have a nice two tone plastic with paint peeling.

i was just thinking.

but please do post some picture, if you do.

I'll get some pics when I finish.

There is paint at Lowes, and at Wal-mart that is made to be used only for plastic. Plastic will bend, so this paint bends with it. I had a Jeep Wrangler, and I used it on my flares that were fadded to almost white. It looked good.
