So I got rear ended a while back, got a check, no big damage, now its just an excuse to upgrade bumpers haha. So I want to get one with a rear swingout so CBI and Shrockworks are what im looking at. CBI is a little more expensive ~about $150 more, plus I like the Shrockworks one better. However i've heard bad things about shrockworks's customer service and how long it takes to get the bumper to you. All the threads i have read are from years ago though so i'm wondering if they have improved? Anyone bought something from them recently?

Well my input is also from some time ago. But they quoted me a 3-4 month delivery once, I sent them the money and waited. 5 months later they told me they'd have them done in 3-4 months. I got my money back.
Now the first time I dealt with them they said 6 weeks, and I got it in less than 8 weeks. Not stellar service but not horrific either. Gobi did the same thing to me, and they don't answer the phone, which IS horrific.
Most of these a/m companies are under capitalized and are unable to have sufficient materials or stock on hand to properly handle things. This is why I started building bumpers for my customers. I just couldn't handle being treated that way.
My advice to you is if they are telling you anything more than 4-6 weeks, go with another product. It means they can't afford to hire people or buy material or both, they are using YOUR money to buy material for other peoples products. Not good business.

I have a CBI rear swing out and it is extremely well built. I cannot imagine anything being built better...the same maybe, but not better.
From the time of order I had it in hand in a couple weeks. The guys there are also very responsive to may concerns. I recommend them all the time.

I got a rear bumper from shrockworks through the summer group buy. It is a long wait time, but that was known up front. The nice thing is you can pay half when placing order and other half when the bumper is ready. This made it seem like not such a big hit money wise. Customer service was great. My bumper was not due to be ready for two more weeks, but when i called and said i was going through Houston and wanted to pick it up to save on shipping they were able to have it ready. I did not get the swing out, but it looks like a better design than the cbi swing out, adjustable for spare tire size, tighter fitting, better latch. The shrock side wings are bulkier than i thought they would be. The bottom edge stays parallel to the ground, where the cbi angles up the further to the back of the vehicle. Not sure if that makes sense, but the shrock basically hangs down as low as the stock bumper. If i were to do it again and wanted a swing out i would be waiting to see the new savage design that should be out later this year, or get a cbi hybrid and have a custom made swing out.

I recently bought a CBI front hybrid and while their customer service was marginal (it took around a week to respond each time I emailed them), the bumper was ready in around 3/4 weeks. Not bad at all if you ask me.
oh wow alright thanks, I was unaware of another company that had the option. From what I saw on their website theirs is alot cheaper and looks well built also! Will definitely be looking into them. How long did it take to get yours?

Got 2 rear bumpers w/carriers this spring in just under 8 weeks as promised. Won't hesitate to buy from Adam again, very pleased with customer service and patience with my questions. He was a little slow to get to my email but once he did the rest was quick and getting him on the horn was not a problem at all.
Savage is in the middle of revamping their rear bumper w/carrier (was tube, thinking it might be hybrid this time to better match their front bumper but don't know for sure) to be available later this year, according to their website.

Hey while we're on the subject, can anyone tell me if the tire carrier is detachable on any of the rear bumpers out there? My truck is a grocery getter during the week and I'd like to be able to have the spare in the stock location until I'm ready to put her in off-road mode.
Needing to open the tire carrier every time I open the back hatch would get really old really quick when I'm doing daddy duty during the week.
