Rear bumper woes...

After noticing some rust starting to wear on the rear of my bumper I thought I would take my time to clean up the backside and reinforce the metal with some rust proof primer and enamel. Unfortunately, the bumper and both side bumpers are pretty wasted. I guess 11 years of mud, grime, and moisture is all the bumper could take before trying to rust its way out. Anyhow, I would like to replace the whole rear bumper. Anyone have any experience finding OEM parts at a reasonable price for this project? Any info would be appreciated.

There is not a Certifit within close proximity to me which is a shame. Has anyone replaced their rear bumper recently and bought from someone online that I could reference?

I understand the quality is not necessarily the same, but it has to be better than any 11 year old bumper I would get off of someone parting one out. I just can't see getting one that would have less rust than a new aftermarket one. And I'm wondering how much the fit could actually be off?
I need a new bumper so I have to do something, but don't want to spend money and get something that won't work out.
Toyota should have painted the inside of these chrome bumpers anyways to prevent rust, but oh well.
 
I did an eBay bumper four months ago. Turned out great. I will probably do the front in the spring since I have some rust poking through. We need Toyota to do a recall on these POS, rust-prone factory bumpers!

They need to contract through ARB for replacements.
 
I ended up buying the 3 piece bumper from the link I previously shared from eBay. I'll let you know how it turns out. This was also a good time to replace the worn bolts/nuts and do some major TLC to the bumper brackets. Nothing a little rustproof primer and topcoat can't fix though.
 
I just got in my three new bumper peices and from early inspection they seemed to be good quality and the chrome looked good. However, installing them is becoming a nightmare. Holes aren't lining up and there seems to be bigger gaps between the chassis and this new bumper. Has anyone experienced this at all and found the best way to rectify the problem? This is driving me crazy!!!!
 
I had no issue installing my bumper (In respects to holes lining up), my guess is that you have something backwards, you could always try to reuse your old brackets.
 
Well, good thing for me I'm not a complete idiot, and this issue actually had everything to do with the parts. I ended up having to break off some ill placed brackets and re-welding them in the correct spots to make holes and gaps line up right. It's not perfect, but no one would ever notice that it wasn't stock. I would have just exchanged it for a new one, but I already had painted the backside to prevent any premature rust from occurring.

I bought the bumper from autosdepo on eBay and would not recommend their products. They have no return policy and if I did not have a welder and know how to weld I would have been out the $200 it cost me for all 3 pieces of the chrome bumper.
Anyhow, my "should have been" 1 hour project took 4.5 hours. But it's done.
 
That's about what it took me, i had to weld a few things, plastic spacers caught on fire, no biggy, I only welded because i broke one of the crappy bolts the was on the center section.
 
I have the same problem front and rear. I am going to replace the chrome with the color keyed plastic like that on a Limited and have it painted my color. The painted looks good and I think would hold up a little better through winters in NY.
 
I also have the rusty bumper curse on my 2000 SR5. Can you really replace the chrome with the colored plastic? I think I prefer the chrome but where can you get aftermarket plastic? I'd like to compare prices.

Also, does anyone have directions on this project?
