Guys,
My car developed rear clunck noise when going over the bumps. Is it possible that parking brake may be loose or something. I checked body and trim inside no problems. It seems come from the rignt rear. Is is common in 4runners to make noise related to parking brake if it is loose?

Thanks a lot, but my problem is not a driveshaft, it it suspension or something else. I occurs only when I go trough the bumbs and not so frequent. Unfortunately this forum has very poor search engine it is quite hard to locate previously reported issue useing keywords.

John, Thanks a lot! I will try to grease rear door rubber parts. I will take car to my mechanic tomorrow to look at the parking brake adjustment. There are not that many 4runners in Armenia, but plenty of Land Curser Prado, which is similar and they do make noise from rear because parking brake loose.

Do you have a ball mount or metal vanity cover installed in your receiver hitch?

If so, and the rubber gasket has worn, the ball mount or vanity cover mount can rattle over bumps and actually sound like suspension parts rattling around. This was the "clunking" sound I discovered in my Trailblazer just a few weeks ago.

Issue solved. Thanks guys so much! it was combination of rear door rubber being dry in winter, I lubed with some Wurth rubber care and rear parking brake shoes were very loose, they would make noise over the bumps. Car is much tighter now.
