Rear Defrost Light

Hey everyone.

I have gotten a lot of good info. and think I can fix this myself. I just have a few questions.

About a year ago, I made the mistake in having an Audio store install my sat. radio. I think, not 100% sure that when they had the dash apart something might have happened to the light for the rear defrost light. The light that indicates when it is on works, but at night the icon doesn't light up. From what I have seen in other posts, I can access the area buy removing the bolt inside the little compartment under the controls. What I don't know is what to do from there, will I know what to do once it is opened? Is it possible that something else might be wrong and not just the light bulb? And lastly, does anyone know what the part number is for the replacement bulb? From other posts it looks as though it is something I need to order from the dealership.

Also, what I have is a 2005 SR5 4Wd

Thanks man. I saw that yesterday, that is how and why I think i can do it myself. But it doesn't answer my other questions.

- and yes it is possible that something else could be wrong other than just the bulb because the bulb is just an indicator. But in most cases its just the bulb
-The bulb numbers are listed in the link above, its a DIY procedure.

Since bulb failure in the "climate control unit" is a common desease in 4th Gen Runner center console, I just buy those bulbs in Radioshack they are cheaper than in Toyota Parts Dept. @ 2pcs/$2, and no need to order and come back: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103780

Its brighter than stock
