Rear Defroster Question

Now that I have an engine that runs properly....moving on to a few other issues with my truck.

Defroster on rear window doesn's work. When I push the switch, the light comes on...just not doing anything at the back where it counts.

Reading the manual, I checked fuse and relay, both seem OK. The first thing the manual says relates to the switch and it wants you to check for continuity on two terminals of the switch....which I don't have. It then says "If the continuity is not as specified, replace the integration control panel".

Question(s): Is the Integration Control Panel the switch? If yes, seems weird that I get the light on...seems like normal operations, yet the switch (or fancy name for switch) is broken absent the specified continuity?

Only thing I could think of is that the switch for a rear defogger may be a complicated beast because it shuts off after a specified time or feedback loop from the rear element somehow...

Anyway, the switch is like $44 from the dealer, so I want to make sure I am buying the right part.

Come on guys...nobody (including the parts guy at local dealer) has a clue what an "Integration Control Panel" is...or where it is?

Same problem

I had the same problem last year on my 2000. Rear defroster didn't work. But mine kept blowing the fuses. Took back panel off and saw there was a wire that had lost its sheath and was grounding out against the metal of the doorframe. taped the wire up and no problems since then.
