Rather than do a whole new forum post I thought I'd join in on this thread and ask a quick question similar to OP.
I'm about to do my differential fluid change as well and bought some MasterPro GL-5 80W-90 Gear Oil. However, my manual says that you should only buy 80W-90 if the car is operating at temperatures below 0 degrees F (I have a 2000 rear wheel drive 4Runner). For temperatures above that it says to get SAE 90.
Does this honestly make any difference? I don't want to put in the wrong stuff, but I just wanted to make sure. What do you guys think?
