Rear diff problem after new install

Hi Guys,

I am a noob 3rd Gen owner and recently replaced the rear diff of my 1999 limited w/ e-locker. After driving it around at various speeds for about 75 miles, I noticed a noise coming from the rear end that sound like metal grinding but only when i accelerated. Panicked, I stopped the truck and noticed diff oil leaking and the rear door and window was covered in oil...What could possibly be wrong with a brand new oem diff? Maybe my mechanic doesn't know what he's doing?

Gear oil leak (obviously). You need to figure out where it is leaking to know the problem. First thing first though, dont' drive it without gear oil. You should probably take it back to whoever set it up, because if you ran it without oil, it could be damaged, and they should be responsible for it.
