Rear door cladding rivets?

I'm in the process of replacing my door - a deer charged me and left this nice little love mark.

So I picked up a junkyard door with 03-05 cladding and need to swap it out.

The parts page lists 2 rivets that look similar and I'm confused whether (7) 90269-04047 or (10) 90269-04054 is the correct part number for the 3 rivets that hold it on. Anyone have any idea?

Another option my buddy suggested would be pop rivets from the hardware store. Is this a possibility?

You'll probably need a combination of the blue and orange fasteners. I would just buy a pack from Amazon. This is what the front fender flares use I would imagine its the same for the rear.

Edit: nevermind, I didn't know they used actual rivets in combination with the clips. Here is an actual picture of the Toyota part if that helps you.

I used aluminum pop rivets. Worked great.

Absolutely get the blue and orange fasteners linked here. You will need them. They are generally not reusable, even if you pop them on and then need to remove the panel again for some reason.

As for the rivets, just get a box of 3/16" x 1/2" aluminum pop-rivets. That's what I have used on both the rear cladding panels on my 4runner.

Also be aware that the 2 plastic tabs on the cladding are probably broken and you will need to fabricate up new ones. I have also done this.

Just use some 1/16" galvanized sheet steel from Home Depot and cut a 1"x3" strip and bend into a Z shape. Drill the hole for the rivet and them use some good, metal to plastic epoxy. I used JBWeld stuff from the parts store. Epoxy them into the correct position to line up with the door holes for the rivets.

I also reinforced some of the tabs for the plastic fasteners because they are weak and either break or you can't get them to pop in because the tab is flexing away. Again, I use JBWeld plastic weld putty to reinforce the plastic tabs.

I have the blue and orange clips.

Yeah there were two diff rivets so I was confused, I might just use generic rivets.

I used aluminum pop rivets. Worked great.

I ended up buying a Harbor Freight rivet tool/rivet set. I think it'll be easier/cheaper this way. Thanks!
