Rear Door Won't Lock

3rd Generation 1997 rear hatch door wont lock. Opens and closes great. When I put the key in to try to lock it nothing activates. The rear window activates and rolls up and down but does not lock. From Inside the elctronic power locks work on all doors but the rear, Interior elctronic window button works from inside too so I think the elctrical stuff all works but when the key is inserted it will not lock

YOu might have to open the door panel and inspect the linkages. The key barrel has a link to the door locking mechanism and it may be off the hook.

If all doors lock/unlock electrically but not the rear...Could be no power to the motor because of a broken wire or bad connection. Could also be a bad motor. You'll have to remove the hatch cover and start troubleshooting inside the door.
