Rear DVD player

What would be the best DVD player in the rear for one child- roof mount or head rest? I like having my son sit in the center but am open for suggestions. Factors are cost, ease of install, how your kids like it.
Thanks!

Headrest is easier to install without having to drop the headliner. You can have two different sources on each monitor. It's easier for your son to watch from a display that's on the headrest than mounted on the ceiling. It also won't obstruct your rearview mirrow when it's in use.

The downside with the headrest monitors is it's very visible to prying eyes.

I'd recommend a portable with headrest mounting system myself...much more flexible. We went with a Panasonic that claimed 10 hours of battery life. Real world yields 6-7 with no attempt at battery saving settings like turning down screen brightness; either way, more than enough DVD time for one day. However, we only use the DVD player when taking true roadtrips, say over an hour. The portable has also come in handy if you get somewhere with no other kid friendly entertainment.
