Rear end hissing?

So I was in a drive thru just now and was waiting in line with my window down and I heard a hissing coming from the back of the runner. It wasn't constant more of 1/2 second on and 1/2 a second off. As soon as I pulled out I accelerated then stopped to listen for it and it had gone away. Anyone know what this is? I wouldn't even know what to look at first. Thanks in advance

um breather? but the dont make that much noise i think unless its plugged up

Got a pic of what I should see or where to look. I've heard it before but I guess because I was next to a wall it was louder.

maybe it was nothing from your Runner but a noise from the drive thru?

Anyways check ALL your fluids, coolant, oil, ect. ect.

Pull up next to a wall somewhere and see if you can replicate it, so you can get out and have a poke around to see where it's coming from. Could be anything from what you know at this point.

He's talking about the rear differential breather. Look at the top of the rear dif on the driver's side. Should be a thingy poking up just before the axle tube. That'd be the breather. Unless it's extended, then there'd be a hose there that you could follow up to the breather. The cap should be free to wiggle, not all gunked up.
