Rear end pulsation driving me nutz !!

hey guys, 99 4r V6 2wd 151k, rear end seems to vibrate-pulsate a little starting at 55 and above, i can feel it somewhat around town but you really start feeling it at hiway speeds, i do know my parking brake was stuck for awhile and it has been freed up 2 wks ago and i have had no probs with it since, got new drums cause my other ones were getting really hot from the parking brake. and now im still having this problem? any idea on what i should do now? mechanic tells me everything looks ok.

Are you able to work on it yourself? I would jack it up and get it on some jack stands so you can do a visual inspection of everything yourself...

Pull the wheels off and the drums pop off for the most part. You may need a 1.25 M8 bolt to screw in the holes to help pop them off if they don't just come off easily....
Have someone push down on the brakes and see if they are locking up the drums and inspect the ebrake as well since you had issues with that before.

Just go through what you can see and confirm first to rule out anything that was looked over by the mechanic.

had a mechanic check the brakes out and he said everything was ok, i really thought once i freed up the parking brake and replaced the drums i had the vibration solved, but its still there, had a guy on here tell me brake shoes could be bent is this possible? btw , i dont much about this stuff,

Okay, no worries. I guess it could be possible that your driveline might need to be balanced....or maybe your tires? When was the last time you balanced the tires? I'd possibly start there, cheap and good to get done every now and again anyway.

when this first started i bought new tires and had them balanced, new drive shaft also,

did your mechanic look into possible damage caused by the brake drum overheating?

I had a buddy -- I think his truck ended up needing axel work because he drove with the parking brake on and everything overheated, damaging the parts, fluids ect.

*update: That truck was a Tahoe but I am pretty sure this applies to ALL vehicles.

Yea good call on this....

I'd make sure the wheel bearings are good at least visually...

the parking brake was stuck, but its been freed up about 2 wks now, new drums, and a new wheel bearings in the back, had a guy tell me brake shoes in the back may be bent, but i think the mechanic would have spotted that, i'm beginning to think it might be the rear shocks causing this mild vibration from the rear, does that sound possible ?
