Rear hatch door won't open

I can't hear the latch click. The key will only turn clockwise and feels like that locks it? Just wondering if this is a common problem and if there's a known fix.

You need to remove the cover near the strap inside the hatch. There is a screw behind that. Then the plastic trim pops off. You will then need to remove a metal plate with about 10 bolts around it. You can then see the mechanism for the hatch release.

ive had this problem as well.
you have to get the hatch open by just playing aroudn with the handle for a bit jimmy it around and lean it to different sides.. its a easy fix once you get it open.

on the hatch part that goes upwards you can see 4 bolts that hold in the lock from the exterior. loosen not remove those bolts and slide the lock downwards then retighten and close up the hatch and should be able to open and close better..
