Rear hatch plastic flap gasket stuff?

Hey all. I’m having a brain fart here. What is this flap called and is using black Toyota FIPG ok to reseal it? I used some last week when I was working on my backup cam but had to get back in after a cable was scratching the shit out of my rear window. Now it won’t restick again so I’m wondering if I used the wrong thing or how I get it to seal again the right way.

They use the same stuff inside the other doors. I don't know what it's called, but I remember the sealer being stickier than FIPG. FIPG forms a sort of rubber gasket when it dries, this stuff is still liquid-ish and very sticky.

You don't need FIPG. Any caulk or RTV paste will do. Don't put new adhesive over old adhesive - overlap it. If you don't have enough clean vapor barrier for overlapping, just cut a new one out of heavy plastic film.

Butyl sealant tape, you can get it in black or white/tan, it's used for many sealing jobs from glass, metal roofing, the list goes on, here one such butyl tape.
