Rear High Clearance Cut?

Hello everyone! I'm trying to keep my weight down and I don't need a rear bumper, but I was wondering if anyone has done a rear high clearance cut? I can't seem to find anything. Thanks!

Not mine. I think it was @wfo . But I can't remember for sure. I like the idea. IIRC he ended up swapping for a full rear bumper.

Are you trying to save weight or increase departure angle? Cutting and trimming plastic that weights nothing to save a few ounces of weight seems like a silly idea. Likewise you aren't going to save yourself any departure angle either if you keep the OEM hitch receiver. Not sure cutting gains you anything in this case.

I guess let me a little more clear. I'd like a little more protection like a new rear metal bumper has but I don't have a "need" for one and don't like the idea of all the weight. The picture he actually posted is what I'm looking for. I would also have to keep the OEM hitch receiver because I do tow a fair amount.

something like that will help rear departure even with the hitch still in place, if you put your tire on the obstacle you can clear the center of the vehicle but you'll come down on the corner of the plastic bumper behind the tire

I think I found a company to make one. They were going to make me a prototype front bumper and they said they were interested in this as well.
