Looking for any tips/tricks or thoughts on installing a set of rear lca's.
also should the heim joint go on the axel or frame?
picked up a set of the adjustable style from toytec. Beefy as hell. Installing tomorrow.
Just to give an idea of scale......

Okay so I'm out in the garage installing the LCA's and I really don't like the way the grease zerk fits on the on the solid side of the lca. Basically there is no flex room between axel and the zerk. If I swap the heim joint to ride on the axle side there isn't enough room in the mounting tab on the axle. So my thought is to remove the grease zerk and replace with a standard bolt. I just know if I leave it as is, first time it flexes the zerk is going to break off.

Anybody out there running these?? Please help!

Install them with the heim on the frame and the bushing on the axle with the zerk facing up. Thats how mine are and there is plenty of room.

Well that is what I figured but I can barely fit the tip of a flat head screwdriver between the axle and the top of the grease zerk. Ill reinstall and grab a picture. I think the hole was drilled and tapped to far back on the axle connection.

Okay so got them reinstalled and this is the clearance (just under 1/8"). I don't think the zerk was threaded in all the way on the first installation. Is this about what you have?

That's more then enough only way the zerk is going to break off is if something gets lodged in between the zerk and axle or if you somehow flatten a mounting tab.

Thanks for the input. Ill give it a little abuse this next weekend and report any issues.

Wow, you learn something new every day. Good to know. I think I may order a set then. Anyone know what the thread size on the heim joint is?
