I'm needing lift help! My 3rd gen has 275k on it with original shocks and struts and spring. The front spring and struts i have under control and the shocks for the rear. I'm needing the help deciding the springs for the rear.

I'm gonna run a 3" lift with 32" tires. The thing i need help with the rear is for the added what of my 19.5' bayliner boat. I had to turn my drop hitch upside down to pull the boat.its close to dragging the ground.

The local yards around here don't have landy's in them. So that option is out. Please help.

My 96 is the dd and mall crawler! I have a 97 5.29, aussie up front, arb in the rear, plated gas tank skid, buds full skid,285/75/16 cooper stt on us wheels, Mossy rocks built custom rear bumper, hardnose welding front front bumper, sliders, toytec coilovers with tundra coils, 2.7 5spd, manu hub conversion, And some odd and ends mods.

Sorry to get off topic but is that chris's old 4runner?

Alright its time to order some springs and shocks! THe t4r looks like a Navigator with busted airshocks now! The coils broke and the shocks are gone!

906 coils fit in there nicely

The variety of choices is confusing, and endless. But having had the Old Man Emu 891s out back they got old for everyday use....

I have the 890s in back now and for me they are a perfect compromise spring for daily comfort and they barely squish when the back end is loaded up.

We just did my lady friends 01 Limited and Old Man Emu 906s fit in there quite nicely and raised the butt end up almost exactly 2 full inches.

For shocks you could do worse than Tokico replacements, or better....Old Man Emu makes fine Nitrocharger shocks to complement their springs. Again many many choices...

Sonoran Steel website is a wealth of info on lifting our 3rd gen Runners.

My buddy has the had a lexus that he lifted and told me that he stilled had the stock springs from it! Dumb question do i use the fronts or the rears? He is letting me have the whole set for 50 bucks! What shocks would i need to run these springs? If i decide to run these

if youre talking lx450 then the fronts will work on your rear and you could use oem land cruiser shocks.... make sure you check the color codes of the springs on the "3rd Gen 4Runner Lift Information and FAQ's" before you end up with too much or too little of a lift.

So that is basically LC coils right? If so, then I think that will be a bad idea. Look around here and you will see that guys say the LC coils sag a ton under loading, so if you are towing, you will likely end up sagging low again.

Just FYI. There is plenty of info in this forum about this. I'm not speaking from experience, just what I have read here.

yes LC's... 891's would be the ideal choice for towing. i towed a 16' trailer loaded with rock on 890's and only sagged 1". i just switched to 8w LC's and im curious to see how it does in the same situtation.... i would imagine that they would sag more but put me a tiny bit higher than the 890's ...???

Yes it was the Lexus Lx450! He lifted it and kept all the stock suspension! i dont know the color codes yet! I'm getting all of the stock stuff from him! The boat doesn't get Hauled to far anyways! Im like 8miles from the lake! The springs are like new!

:lol:just messin . LC coils are going to give a ton of lift no matter what color code you have. id recommend the OME's also

The color code on these lexus lx450 is green, yellow and white! which according to the chart is the 8.25 wrap! The front is gonna have 3 spacers from toytec! I can handle a little bit of rake! Just not sure how much rake its gonna give me!

The 8.25 wraps will give you ~4-4.5" of lift. Driffter33 runs these coils with OME 881s+top spacers (3") and it looks great with ~1" or so of rake. Perfect stance IMO.
