Rear muffler issue??

Hi all,

My rear muffler seems to have come loose. I am including a few pictures of the issue (please see attachements). Does anyone know if this needs a simple metal pin I can order? Once again, any help is always appreciated.

Pics hard to tell ?

Any muffler shop can fix that for a cpl bucks, weld a new hanger on no big . But I can't tell if its the muffler or resonator ?

It is a bit hard to tell, but from the first pic, it looks like the resonator and the welded hanger post no longer line up with the suspending support rubber bushing on the frame. It appears if the entire assy., may have been pushed forward, toward the front of the vehicle, and no longer lines up. If this is the case, then the most likely reason is someone backed into something and hit the tail pipe, which pushed the assy., forward (probably bending the pipe as it goes over the rear axle). This is not the first time I have heard/seen this happen to someone. The only solutions are to pull the resonator assy back to the rear to correct the bent pipe, find a way to extend the post on the resonator so it will again reach the hanger, or replace the rear resonator/pipe assy.
