Rear Quarter panel DENT! :(

Thank you to DVC parking lot for this beautiful dent that someone left for me. Who hits a parked car? Seriously...:shrug:

Does anyone know any good/cheap dent removers in Nor-cal?
Or how I can fix this dent myself w/o making it worse? I think I know how to get to it;
by taking out that interior panel, but I'm scared if I hammer it out, I will make it worse...any suggestions?

P.S.: Please ignore those ugly brown/goldish stripes, I have been trying to remove them since I got the 4Runner 2 years ago, but they are a PITA to get off.

that ****ing sucks man, good thing i dont really care about cosmetic anymore ever since i fed it up wheeling at tahoe couple of times lol. you can try to fix it ur self but that spot has some really weird angle so its gonna take a ton of patients and hours of light hammering

Do a yellowpage or google search for a "paintless dent repair" in your area. Some of these guys have shops, but most are just mobile operations, that go from dealership to dealership. A good paintless dent repair guy could probably rub that out in about 15 min. Not sure what they charge in your area, you'd have to ask. And he's probably not going to be able to help your bumper, time for an aftermarket.

In addition to your dent concern, have you tried a heat gun for the pinstriping? There is also a eraser type bit you can get for air grinder at paint supply stores that will take that right off....I've used that on jets before.

I would look up dentpro or paintless dent removal. It should be covered under your insurance. I would try to contact those that run DVC (whatever that is) and see if they happen to have cameras. If so,you can find out who hit/run ya. Have their insurance pay.

I hate when sh*t happens like that.. it happened to me twice this year alone hit and run in my 4runner and borrowing my family members volvo someone hit the rear in front of the house and moved it about 2 feet from its original position and didnt leave any info.. Karma is a you know what when it comes to crap like that..

But as of places I can ask my uncles friend who ones D'Image autobody in SSF see what he can do but whatever you do dont let those guys that drive around in parking lots fix it they will just make it worse ive seen it happen to someone before and she wasnt happy...

If it's a small enough dent you can try dry ice and a hair dryer. Even saw a video on youtube of someone doing this.

Oh ****, how did I not even think about insurance. I will call them tomorrow. I looked up Paintless dent removal and there is a guy named Brian that is supposed to be really good. I called him and sent him the pictures and he said it would require body work. Thanks!

A paintless dent removal guy in my area that is suppsed to be really good said that he couldnt fix it and it would require body work. Dammit! And yea I want an aftermarket bumper, but Im not sure because mines just a 2WD and I wouldnt be going on any thing where I would really need it. But they look sick. **** maybe I will lol

No I havent tried that yet. I just used goo gone and tried scrubbing for about 10 min and gave up haha. I met up with t4R4life today and he also mentioned the heatgun thing. Oh nice that eraser bit thing seems cool. I dont have a heat gun yet so I'll try a blow dryer and some more goo gone for now, and if it still doesnt come off I'll have to try that air grinder thing. Ok cool, thanks! and I hope so. The paintless dent repair guy that I contacted said it would be require body work. But I will try a few more ppl first. Its not worth it to me to take it to a shop and have to spend like $500. Its crazy! Oh sweet thanks for the vid man. That thing is pretty cool. I guess it slowly deteriorates on its own. Like mr clean magic eraser haha. I am going to pick one of those up and give it a try. Thanks! I am sure and hope it will work..If not, I will go with the heat gun

I know a paintless repair guy, and based on what he has told me about the process, it doesn't work on big dents, so I am not surprised that the guy said that would require body work. If you have cracked paint at all, or the paint is deformed, crinkled, anything like that, then paintless isn't going to fix it. It is mainly for shallow dents.

If another paintless guy says he can do it no problem, then I might be suspicious of him.

Man, that stinks. I know a lot worse things can happen, but the person DEFINITELY knew they hit something. Have a little mutual respect and own up to it.
