rear sag

I've got a96 t4r with 150k on it. It's got a bit of sag normally, but when I hooked up my dirt bike trailer with a couple of dirt bikes, it sagged ALOT, even though the tongue weight is still pretty light.

I've gotta take it in for the rear suspension recall - will that solve the towing sag? If not, what do you guys suggest?

I do very little off roading, and alot of highway driving. The truck rides a bit rough, but not terrible. I don't think I want any rougher ride then it's got now, but i'd prefer something smoother.

edit: Just realized that I'll probably be using my motojack on the t4r - one of those motorcycle carriers that attach to the hitch, but don't have wheels. The bike and hitch weigh about 300 pounds and sit about 2 1/2 feet off the back of the bumper. Air shocks? Air bags? heavier springs? I used air shocks on my 89 toyo 4x4 - they helped a little, but not much. I'm still hoping for decent ride when i'm not towing or using the moto jack.

Thanks

I have a 96 and tow a camper. I noticed that my rear axle was about 1.5 in from bottoming out. I put in the firestone air bladder kit which was around $100 and put it in myself in about 3hour. It wasnt the funnest thing. The nice thing I like is that you can still have a smooth ride and be able to adjust it when you need to. I haven't heard about an issue about the rear suspension springs. Where did you hear that from?

Jeremy - thanks for the info on the air bags - they look like just what I need, and the price is right!

Rear suspension recall - call your local toyo dealer and ask them to run your vin for any recalls. There is a recall of the rear suspension, but i'm not sure what the specifics are. I think i've read in the forum that it may correct some sag. I might see if the toyo dealer will install the air bags at the same time as the suspension recall (since I assume they'll be replacing the rear coils), but that may be too much to ask from a dealer.

yea i had read about that rear suspension recall also. evidently it has to do more with the safety of the vehicle than the sagging. i was under the impression it was only for 97-99 models, but i could be wrong. your local dealer will know when you give them your vin#.
