Gen 5 Rear Seat Removal
I am a new member so I guess I cannot start a new thread, so I am replying on this one. I want to remove my 2nd row seats (no 3rd row). I am unable to loosen the bolts and have already damaged the head on a couple.
So are these "locktited" or nylocked in? Whats the procedure for removal? And what is the weird 17mm cap on the underside of the body?

I'm also new. How many replies are required to "join the club", so to speak?
My seats removed easily. I put the right sized metric socket with a short extension onto a 1/2 inch breaker bar. Held everything square & plumb and applied steadily increasing pressure.
If bolt heads are rounding off something's wrong. They shouldn't be near that tight, but maybe they are. Put some Viener Schlider on 'em and let it soak over night.
'O course, there's always the heat wrench...

apparently no one who has done this wants to reveal the secret location of the hidden bolt,,,looked thru like 5 threads,,,
IT IS ON THE SEAT ITSELF,,LIFT UP FABRIC FLAP TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF THE BACK OF THE SEAT,, CLOSE TO WHERE THE PIVOT POINT IS,,,THERE IS A 14MM BOLT BACK THERE. YOU HAVE TO LEAN THE SEAT FORWARD TO GET AT IT
I know on the second row, hidden bolts are behind the back of the seats. Near the bottom, where it meets the cargo floor, there's a flap at the bottom of the seatback pull up and outward. Under there is a bolt where it connects to the pivot on the wheelhouses.

swapping middle seats
I have a 5th gen with the 3rd row seat set up.
I have removed the 3rd row seats and got a seat of the folding style middle row seats from a junk yard. I seem to be missing some brackets. Does anyone have any photos of how the middle row seat backs attach, ideally without the plastic covers?

i cant seem to create a fresh post , so i will continue here.
i installed the eyelets the catch the upper part of the back seat. which is good, but the brackets attached to the rear seat uppers do not match the floor pan. So i assume there is a some plate the sits between the floor and the seat bracket. can someone help with a picture or part number?
will try to attached a photo again.
