rear seatbelts

I know this is not the topic of that thread, but i noticed that the rear seat belts have that stopper thingy for the buckle to stay up. My 06 doesn't have that. anyone know if it's possible to put one on mine, or that Toyota just decided not to put it into the 06s??? Thanks in advance.:awais:

Don't worry, you're not missing anything. My '06 doesn't have it either nor does it have the third row. His 4R has third row seats (look for the seat belt anchors where we normally have the convex backup mirrors). 4R's with the third row seats have a different second row. Our seats fold by lifting the seat bottom and the seat back folds forward in the seat bottom area. The second row on third row equipped 4Rs, the seat back folds down first and then the entire seat tumbles forward for third row access.

Oh i see. 4Rs w/3rd row fold differently. That's how my GX's second row folds up. Well it doesn't make sense to not put that stopper thingy on the second row seatbelts, because it's really annoying when other people in the second row remove their seatbelts and hear that "bang" of the buckle on the sidings because it's missing the stopper.:bash:

My guess as why two row 4Runners don't have that stopper is how the seatbelts are attached--in front of the door opening. It looks our belts are at an angle, where as the third row 4R's look straight. If it had the stopper and the buckle is in the middle it may make easier for the belt buckle to get caught in the door jam. I've seen nasty results when careless passengers get out and slam door the behind them on the seatbelts. I worry about my car everytime I have people riding in the second row.
