Rear spacer lift limitations?

I want a subtle lift/ improved ride. I cannot find rear springs with less than a 1.5" lift......which I think might look goofy with only 275/70/17's on a 5th gen.

I'm thinking about doing 5100's front @ .85 and a 1" cornfed spacer/ 5100's rear.

I've searched spacer vs. springs, etc and haven't found an answer regarding spacer lifts in the rear. So.....

-What are the limitations of a spacer-lift vs a spring lift on rear suspension?

-Would I regret doing it? I don't do anything too hard-core offroading; but I would like to start doing some trips to the mountains, etc. in the future.

-Will a spacer work offroad or is it purely aesthetic? Is there a danger of the spacers coming loosing during maximum extension?

-Anything else I'm missing?

The spacers will work fine, but they won't change your ride any. They are strictly for lift. So if you just want a better ride, I would save your money. Higher end shocks will help your ride quality a lot more than springs will. Look into some Fox or comparable replacement shocks for a smooth offroad ride.
