Rear Spoiler...

I am interested in picking up one of these rear spoilers that are made by a non-Toyota manufacturer... Has anyone ordered one of these and if so, does it look good? Were there problems? Paint match?

I am also looking to upgrade my grille assembly from the chrome I have now to either a color keyed (Galactic Grey IE9) or even possibly a black one... I noticed there is a manufacturer that makes it but I cannot tell if it is black or simply chrome from the photo, which is upside down taboot!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated...

My 4Runner is a 2006 Galactic Grey (IE9) Sport Edition...

Been there...done that.

I got my rear spoiler from ebay. What I found fit perfectly, and as advertised, was a color match to my 2007 black SR5. Mike is right, the 3rd brake light does face down....but it also faces away from the rear of the truck. In visual effect, 60% of the surface of the 3rd light faces down (toward the tow hitch) and 40% faces away from the truck. Actually, it seems to be identical to the spoilers (and may be the factory overruns) of what dealerships used to install in the earlier years of the 4th gen. The "speedbump" spoiler is the 2nd generation of rear spoiler. Mine looks factory, and the brake light functions no differently than on the other type. Just find a good body shop to do the install if you are queezy about drilling into the exterior of your truck. It was also critical to the wiring as they were able to beef up the connectors for an added sense of security.

It is next to impossible getting an aftermarket "hump" spoiler.

And almost aftermarket spoilers have there integrated third brake light "facing down"

I got a spoiler a year ago from here : California Dream by AAC - Spoiler Listings via Ebay, it was $89 and painted !

And it doesn't look aftermarket.. why? the brake light does not face down.

That's the one I have, I haven't gotten around to having it installed yet. I searched everywhere for this one because I didn't like the way the light faced down on all the other aftermarket spoilers.

Nice, thanks for the photos and link to this because the third brake light facing down was an issue for me and I did not see this manufacturer... How did you deal with the actual third brake light on the actual door tough? Did you just disconnect it altogether and left it in with no juice running through it? Also, how did it match your trucks paint? It looks darn good from the photo but I am still weary about having it match my Galactic Grey (IE9) paint...

Hi double, The spoiler was installed by a body shop. The original 3rd brake light is still connected, because the computer can not detect a bulb in the spoiler as they are LEDs, so dash warning lit forcing the installer to connect the original 3rd brake light back in parallel with the spoiler's integrated 3rd brake LEDs.
I bought the spoiler from autowingandspoilerking at ebay more than a year now, it was $89 now for $79 "painted already". It was shipped from california dream AAC from Ohio - the link I posted above.
There will be instructions where you enter the color code, if I remember during my paypal payment. so for galactic gray, you are correct 1E9. As you can see,the paint match precisely :)
