Rear spring issue / ride hight?

Can someone tell me if these pics are normal? When I am driving I feel as if the rear is bottoming out, and these pics show the bumpers really close together. Is this normal, or do I need new springs? The truck itself doesn't look like its sagging.

Can I remove the bottom rubber bumper for a bit more travel before the top one hits, or should I change springs? There is 160k miles on this truck. :driving:

Before I replaced/lifted my rig, my jounce bumpers were about 1/4" of the spring seat.

The jounce bumpers are there to actually carry heavy load.

The spacing really doesn't look that bad. If you shocks are worn out (or have cheap shocks) they may be allowing the rear to bounce into them. Better shocks may minimize the hit.

Sure, you can cut off the first donut. There are bumpstops to keep the axle from damaging anything if it bottoms out. I have cut a couple off both sides of mine. Even with the 5"+ of lift that I have, they limited my flex.

Personally? Lift it. Use replacement coils. Spacers are just a band-aid to the sagging coils.

Springs are worn out. I had the same problem too. I just added Daystar 1 1/2 in coil spacers. No more bottom out. I got them on Amazon for $40 shipped.

Yup. They gave me close to 2 inches lift. Gives The rig a nice small rake. It handles a lot better. Now i'm actually thinking of adding the 1 inch in the front.

Thanks, Ill put the order in right now. Im so tired of my back end going down and then coming to a hard stop on small bumps. Small as in normal driving on the streets, its horrible. The pics are from it not even loaded, as soon as me and my wife get in and go for a drive, the gap closes even more leaving me with probable a half inch of travel, lol

Yeah I hated that. You will notice a big improvement. Its an easy install.

I installed the lift thingys( technical term), and it rides great. I ordered the 1.5" ones but it sure looks like its more than that. But it rides smooth and no more bouncing over small bumps.
