Rear spring question

Is there a spring that I could replace my stock rear springs with to get 1" of lift?
I know I could just use a spacer but thought maybe new rear springs would be better. My Runner has 64K on it now.

For a 1" rear lift, if you don't do a lot of off roading, I'd go with a 1" spacer.

Just hop on Amazon and look. Icon and Dobinsons are two solid brands. They make springs with different promised ride height increases. Installation is pretty easy, especially if you don’t have KDSS. Plenty of videos on that.

Check out wheelers off road springs, I believe they are made by eibach. If I were to go that route, I would also check if you should the shocks with bilstein or something with more travel. I believe wheelers T1 (front) and T13 (rear) springs matched with bilsteins was used by someone on this forum in one of the 5100 threads. hope this helps.

I second the eibach spring. Gives the advertised lift height and isn’t too stiff. If your going through the trouble to put a spacer in might as well put an upgraded spring in. Same amount of work.

I used this spring as well, 2015 Trail, no 3rd row. Gave advertised amount of lift and rides great paired with some 5160’s

I think this is the only one I have found that says 1".

Ryan, is it 1" sharp, once settled? I assume that 1" applies to a newer vehicle and that an older rig would see a bit more vs the sagging suspension being replaced?

Plus or minus a millimeter or two.

You could see a little more if the OE springs have settled a bit.

We also make a rear spring for Wheeler’s that gets 1.5.

FJ Cruiser rear springs would probably get you close to 1" if you were looking to stay with something with less spring rate, closer to stock.

Already running Bilsteins on all 4 corners. Just looking for the minimum rear lift. I dont want an excessive rear rake again.

Hmmm, it's definitely true of 4th gens, I assumed the same would hold true for 5th gens. Is there some reason it wouldn't apply? The suspensions are mostly the same.

From what I have read here, the FJ coils as lift coils only work for 4th gen due to the 5th being heavier.

Per Google, there is a 450lb weight difference between a 2007 and a 2017 4x4 4Runner for V6 models. The FJ and the 4th gen, otoh, are both listed at 4,300lb.

Hi Ryan,

What is the unload spring height for the rear spring? I have some extra weight on my 4runner and want to run the numbers to make sure it's okay. I have seen else where on the forum that your rate is 220 lb. So the last bit for that calc is the spring height.
