Rear spring suggestions?

One more question for the day. Trust me I've done a lot of reading and research on this already and based on that I think I already know the answer is I'm SOL but I figured I check to be sure...

I want a 2/1 lift (2.5/1.5 at most) lift for my 06 4x4 V6. This is my daily driver that sees very limited (and mild) off road use. I plan to run 265/70-17 AT's so I don't see any need or reason to go any higher then that. I basically just want to level it out and get a touch more clearance without spending a bunch of money or having to worry about drive line angles, alignments, adjustable UCA's etc..

That said, I really don't want to use a spacer lift. On the front, I plan to run 5100's (at the 0 setting) with either OME 883's or 884's. Out back is where I'm having issues. I can't seem to find a replacement spring that offers a 1" lift? The FJ spring is generally only good for .5 to .75"s and the rest of the options I've found are either 2" or 3" lifts.

Is using a spacer the only way to get a 1" rear lift? I guess I should also mention that I don't generally put a lot of weight in the back or tow with this rig (I have a full size truck for that type of stuff) so I don't want a stiff spring.

I had a similar desire when selecting my lift... which i haven't installed yet but is sitting in my basement. except I was cool up to 3/2 over new measurements.

I ended up deciding on 5100's on the zero setting up front with 885's and i got 895e's for the rear with some icon 2.0's.

I have an 05 sport v6, so I'm anxious to see how the installed numbers work out... just need some warm weather so I don't have to attempt to install it in 18" of snow.

the only difference between the 884 and 885's is 5mm which is .197" in free length of the coil.

895e's have a free length of 375mm or 14.76" with 260 lbf/in rate
895's have a free length of 390mm or 15.35" with 260 lbf/in rate

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/162125-coil-rates-oem-4runner-oem-fj-moog-others.html this says your rear oem coils are 14.17" with 180 lbf/in spring rate when new from the factory

I'd venture to bet the 8955e's would give you an inch lift (over new OEM specs and probably more than an inch over your existing setup due to wear/age) since the spring rate is higher (less sag when loaded than the OEM spring)

I have a feeling I may be swapping out my 895e's for these once everything is installed... 15.75" free length and 195 lbf/in spring rate, it's all in the name. great recommendation.

Thank you. I was unaware of that option. Glad I asked!

No problem I don't run them so can't provide any first hand experience. I am in the same boat looking for a rear lift in the same range when I found these and think I will end up with these over a spacer lift since my springs have almost 100k miles on them.

I'm in the same boat brother! My rig has 105k on the clock and feel like new springs\struts\coils is the better approach.

You would think this would be easier but so many people report such varying results with the same product. Take the OME 884's. OME lists these as a 1" lift spring but it seems like everybody who installs them gets anywhere from 2" to 3" worth of lift?

As for these Sway-A-Ways, it did find one post here from a guy who replaced some icon rears springs (supposedly 2" lift springs) with the Sway-A-Ways and the SAW's were lower and did ride better. You have probably already seen it but just in case... http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/45168-sway-way-rear-coils-installed.html

Unfortunately it won't be anytime soon for me either. I'm saving right now so I can do the suspension, tires (and potentially wheels) all at the same time.

At this point I'm just trying to figure out exactly what I want and what it will cost?
