Rear tire Carrier.

So i have a 90 with the rear tire carrier. but i want it on my 95 without one. i have removed the rear interior panel on my 95 and there is no place to bolt one on. I haven't removed the interior panel on the 90 yet.

Has anyone ever put one on a t4r without?

I plan on cutting the corner off the 90 and using whatever is inside to hold it on to my 95. I will also swap tailgates. unfortunatly neither of the gates work.
So i first have to remove those.

I'll post some pics as i go along.

Good link. fortunatly for me a have a complete parts truck with the carrier so i'm going to chop it up and take the factory pieces from the inside.

Like that guy said and did a different reverse light. I dont really like the carrier tailgate reverse lights either. may have to do something different too.

n8buddy where could i find more pics of your truck? i seen it in the t4rom forum but there wasn't many pics.
 
ya i guess your way will be easier, i am interested to see how it turns out. here is a pic of the axillary back up lights i installed on my truck. i bought them off a user on this site and they are night and day difference. ive got some before and after shots at night if you want to see them.

Question about b.j spacers. You say they wont fit with the stock 15's?
Cause i wasn't planning on getting rims and tires right away. Do you think a one inch wheel spacer fix the possible rubbing issue.

I got a set of 3" wheel spacers off of kijiji.ca for 100 bucks. I guy bought them for his chevy but his fronts rubbed right away so he took them off and he drove for a month with the rears but thought it looked like crap with wide on the back and narrow on the front.

I tried one on my front wheel but i have stock alloys on now and the bolts and threads wouldn't work. but i'll test them again when i put the stock steelies on for winter. It made the brake completely visiable inside the rim. And i didn't think it was very good for off-roading. But it looked good! LOL.

I have a set of fog lights that i'm going to install on the back just like yours. i may mold them in to the gate or bumper.

And i assume you carry extra gas with you when your that far in the mountains, cause i doubt there is any gas stations.

I thought of putting a extra gas tank tucked up under where the spare tire goes. evn a extra 20 or 30 gallons would be a good load.

And i agree with what you said in one of the threads about the facelift in 92. i like the square beams and grille better. i have a 90 parts truck with that grille. i'm going to take it and store it for now. Cause i would like to find the non sealed beam ones cuasae you have more bulb options. and can change to hid's.

its not that stock 15"s wont work, its that the tire becomes dangerously close to the upper control arm. I think a 1" wheel spacer would work, ive heard they are dangerous for some reason so that why i stayed away from them.

i very rarely bring extra gas with me, that the beauty of living out here, all these places are so close. That trip was the furthest ive driven on the highway to go wheeling, about a half hour. then its another half hour on a logging road to the beginning of the 4wd road, another 1.5 hours to the top. if i ever get a roof basket i will probably bring gas tho, just in case.

i think hella makes a sealed beam style headlight that has replaceable bulbs. I use sylvania silverstars and i am quite happy with them.

as for rock slides, im not sure how common they are. avalanches kill a few people every winter, but ive never heard of deadly rock slides.

whereabouts is Ontario are you?
 
Yeah those are cool in the bumper. That other guy with the 5 circles across the back would be good for blinding tailgaters.

The spacers that just go in between the wheel and hub are somewhat dangerous. but the ones that have there own set of studs are okay. I've never heard of a problem with them. its a good idea to get a alignment with them.

I have the sylvania silverstars on my celica. there work good. I'm sure the hella ones are pricey. there are lots on e-bay, some the black backgrounds that look pretty good. I'm just worried about them being really cheap manufacturing. my buddy got some for his wrx and they were crap.

I was just wondering about rock slides, cause some of your pics looked like it was pretty bouldery in some spots. Can you drive some of those trails in the winter or is the snow too deep?

Close trails is a good thing. I live in Orillia which is about an hour and a half away from toronto. there is some wooded trails but no mountains at all. Gf's family is in north bay (2hours north) and it is pretty rock up there. In the muskoka area is good off-roading land, lots of rocks lakes (It's the canadian shield)and that is about an hour away.

I've just recently got this truck, i have only owned cars before this. So i haven't hit too many trials yet, i was on a ontario 4wd club site and they have a good list of trails that i plan on trucking next summer. Maybe this fall if the build on my truck goes well.

I just dropped it off at mech friends for him to do a bunch of mechanical work, in trade for me doing body and paint work on his mini truck.
