Rear View Mirror and what yrs

Bought a 2000 4Runner with tan interior
My cousin took delivery and said that it has not rear view mirror, but looks like it had the kind where you glue the button on the windshield. He sadi there is also is an electrical connecion hanging there (maybe for map lights or?)

I thought 4Runners have the kind where you mount it up above like into the headliner

I'm not picking 4Runner up til next week but wondered if there is more than one way they mounted the rearview mirrors.

Is is same mirrors as Tacoma?
What years and models used same mirrors?

it was a dealer-installed-option to have an autodimming mirror with compass.

look on ebay though, you may be able to get either the autodimming or the factory mirror cheap.
