ANyone know if a '01 rear view mirror with temp guage/compass/auto dim will pose any trouble going into a 97 SR5?

is there a way to hide the wire that runs to the mirror? I have map lights and a sunroof so your writeup is right up my alley. Thanks a lot for that.

What year is your truck? I see you have twist knobs for the temp controls.. in my I have the slide controls (which I absolutely despise). I'm coming from a gs 300 lexus which had full auto climate controls and I can't stand the sliders..

Sorry for the little rant :)

but again, thanks a lot for the write up.

well limiteds have climate control systems.

anyway, mine is an 01. i hid mine behind a toll booth pass. you can actually go to a toy dealer and buy a little wire cover, as they install these at the dealer for a pretty expensive rate.

the cover should not exceed like 10 bucks though.

does the temp guage work for you? or is it just the auto dim/compass that works after this install?

I don't care much about the autodim because my windows are tinted to the highbeam glare doesn't bother me a whole lot.. but I do like the outside temp feature.. very convenient little option that the lexus got me hooked on.

i have the compass powered. you can power the temp pretty easily, but ive just never done it.

i like the dimming feature because higbeams travel through tint.

im not 100% on this, but my understanding is, you run it through the headliner, down the a-pillar, to the door jamb.

I can get these mirrors if anyone needs one. They come with either just the temp.compass, or with homelink as well.

I added a cutom temp gauge in my 4Runner.

I mounted the temp probe on the underside of the front bumper. You can sneak it out through the gromet in the firewall.

More pics and a write-up on my site.
