First 4Runner owner here, 2001 from a single owner in Arizona that relocated to Michigan. 256k, so many and replacement projects in the future for this beginner. Anyone remove the rear washer nozzle? Is it twist and pull or are there clips that must be accessed by removing the window, run, weather strip and such? Thank you in advance.

If you have ever replaced the front nozzles, the rear one is loaded with two little clips that must be pried out. I think I used a screwdriver and pick. It isn't the easiest to do, since you have to note the nozzle orientation. Check the check valve for the fluid tube to make sure it works first, it should be located under the rocker panel for the rear passenger side door. About the length of a butt connector.....
Do you have to remove the back door glass run and weatherstrip to access the clips?

No, but I remember it was a PITA to see how to get to it, maybe harder to put it back in and align it correctly.

Old thread providing no answer but I believe I solved it, at least it worked for me.
Yes, the access hole is too small for extra tools, fingers etc…and the angle of the rear doir prevents a camera to view so flying blind.
At the base of the sprayer, there is a rubber washer, maybe 5 mils thick. I was able to get my slimmest panel removal tool (plastic) between the rubber washer and the rooftop. From there I just pressed in a couple areas toward the center until I hit the section with the one side of the clip and it came right out. I believe this is what Toyota techs would do to remove, or just break off and replace. A credit card or plastic gift card would work well too.
Realigning on install is no issue because there is a fin key and slot to make sure it goes in the correct way.

I believe I used a small claw retrieval tool to do the same thing, but if it works for you, that’s great.
