This is my first post, new to the site.
I just bought a 1998 T4R 2WD this week and it has really bad tires. The driver side rear tire dips in steeply on the outer sidewall and has a bulge. I had it taken to a mechanic and he did a pre-buy inspection. He mentioned it needs a rear wheel bearing and possibly a rear axle shaft. It hobbles/shimmys/vibrates in the rear end when you go over 15 mph.
One mechanic quoted me $200-300 and another today said $500. Is this something that I can do over a weekend and does it require specialized tools?? I've worked on cars ALOT, just haven't worked on a Toyota T4R. Where can I get some info on this process?

PS Would appreciate any suggestions for mods and such that I could do to it. I really need brighter headlights due to BAD night vision...
