Apparently on the USDM 4Runners it only rolls down not up. Of course the JDM version you can roll up AND down

Apparently its a safety issue...

Eddykim3,

The remote will only lower the rear window. You can use the switch on your dash to raise the window (one touch), or use your key on the rear hatch to raise the window.

the only reason i ask, i was at the park and rolled the window down from a distance to unload some stuff. thought i could raise it back up with the remote outside. didn't know my lazy ass has to go inside turn the car on and push a one touch button...oh so lazy...haha. thx

Like 05ToyRunner said, you can go to the hatch and turn the key like you were going to lock the door. This will lock all the doors as well as raise the rear glass.

Also lowering the rear window will unlock all the doors (in case you didn't know)

Anyone know if it can be modified to roll up with the remote? Or is there another button on their remote for this?

Well, if the jdm one rolls up and down should there be a module to do the same with our remotes. thats if the remote is the same. Well I guess It could be controlled by the ecu (brain) also. But , If it is just a remote and module. I WANT IT.

Well the JDM Key and Key Fob are actually integrated into 1 piece unlike us where we have a separate key and key fob remote.

I think the rear window roll up was discussed previously on this thread but I forgot how far it went: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11131&highlight=japanese+key

We've discussed a lot previously on this board so if you have a question, it can usually be answered by doing a search on some key words.

Hope that helps some.
