rear window confusion

So I put a new rear wiper motor in my 4runner but now I can't get the window motor to line up right to bolt it back. it's like the arms(the ones the connect to the window track from the motor) are stuck. has anybody dealt with this before? also, when I turn on my truck I hear something click back there and when I push the window button(either up or down) nothing happens. Please help and thanks.

We need to know what year your truck is.

Sorry, she's a 1997 limit. 3.4l V6 2wd. Thanks

It sounds like the regulator or the motor is stuck or jammed. The clicking is probably the relay trying to actuate the motor. Be careful with that regulator because if it lets go while your hands are in there you could really get hurt. You might try removing the motor from the regulator and testing the system. If the motor runs now then the problem is in the regulator.

well I unplugged the motor and it no longer makes that clicking noise when I turn on the truck. also, when I push the window up or down button it clicks. before it wouldn't do anything. so do you think my motor is jammed up? how would I go about fixing this?

Try touching the motor case to bare metal. If it still doesn't run I would try taking the motor apart and see if it just needs lubing or brushes. Are you now able to mount the regulator?

When lining up the bolt patterns it helps to have the rear window rolled down partially. This will allow you to move the window and track for proper alignment. Be careful with those bolts if they do not line up right on; the threads strip out easily

hey everyone, just letting you know that I got it fixed and all put back together. I just pulled the motor off and moved the arms down and put the motor back on. I guess the motor had locked them straight up but it's working now. thanks for all of the help.
