Question. In another forum the guys are asking how the mechanism of the rear defroster works since our back windows roll down..

Do you guys know what Toyota used for materials or what on the rear window??

(hence i never thought of thinking about it before lol)

There is contact points so when the window goes up they connect . If the rear def. is on and you drop the back window it shuts off. Thats all I know about it. Except for the fact I think they work pretty crappy as far as the heat goes.

On our 00 Tahoe and my old 04 Z71 Tahoe you could damn near fry on egg on that window , it fricken melted everything.

Oh I see. Got it... I like the heat capacity of our defrosters. At least it wouldn't ruin the tint right (if there's aftermarket tint on it)? As long as it does the job, I'm ok with it. lol.

The guys in the CRV forum asked about my 4Runner's defroster since I mentioned something about the rear window sliding down lol.
