Rear window frame?

So im tired of having my rear window taped shut and having to remove the tape or pull the stuff out of the 4runner through the back door about a week after i bought the truck in new mexico (last july ish) i bought a replacement regulator (the motor gear is stripped) about 3 months ago i decided i would try to install it so i took the gate apart and the track at the bottom is completly rusted out and crumbled..

I can get replacements from the stealership for i think it was $106 a piece + a far bit more for the rubber per side. napa, autozone, orillys, or the local parts place motion dont have a part number listed and i have cheched the pull yard about every other week aside from paying $56 for the pair on ebay any other ideas (i dont have a metal break and no place to put one or i would really just make my own)

I had the same problem. I took the metal guide off. There's a small gap between the rollers and arms that lift the window. I set the window in that gap and it worked fine until i was able to track down a 4runner part out on craigslist with a good rear window/guide.

The track of a 2nd gen 4runner will work on a 1st gen if you find one.
