rear window paint scratches

Has anybody figured out how to prevent scratches when window in back is rolled down. I have all kinds of paddlin gear in and out of there alot and it seems to be scratching the paint alot. I thought mayby some of that 3M tape but not sure any suggestions?

Are you talking about scratches from something that is long and sticking out the back and resting on the sill when the window is down?
Whenever I have something like that I drape a blanket across the sill. I have a picnic blanket with rubber on one side and this helps reduce stuff sliding around.

I second the techno comment-seems to always understand exactly what is being described and has constructive comments to solve.

I use those heavy padded mover's blankets to cushion the window sill when my dog jumps out the back end window. A couple of those blankets will cover and protect your entire back end carpet and sides.

I second Ron's comment about the moving blankets. We use them for our 2 Labs when they ride in the back of the 4runner. They work great for protecting the back bumper/step from scratches when the dogs are loading into and out of the back. We just leave a little extra blanket folded over and drop that down across the bumper/tailgate area and it works great.
